My research interests are in the areas of wireless ad hoc/sensor networks and mesh networks with emphases on throughput and energy efficient protocols, cross-layer design, routing, scheduling, and network security.

[Research @ WPI]

Efficient cross-layer protocol design for opportunistic routing in multi-rate wireless mesh networks   

Proposed an efficient forwarding candidate coordination scheme using energy detection technique.
Involved in the implementation of the protocol in GlomoSim.

 

Secure link quality measurement in wireless sensor and mesh networks

Proposed a secure link quality measurement mechanism which prevents malicious nodes from reporting a false measurement result.

 

Opportunistic routing in multi-radio multi-channel multi-rate wireless mesh networks

Proposed a unified framework to compute the end-to-end throughput of opportunistic routing in multi-radio multi-channel multi-rate wireless mesh networks.

 

Geographic opportunistic routing in wireless ad hoc and sensor networks

Analyzed principles of the local behavior of geographic opportunistic routing.

Proposed an energy-efficient geographic opportunistic routing scheme in wireless ad hoc and sensor networks.

 

Energy efficient protocols design in wireless sensor networks

Designed energy efficient geographic routing protocols in wireless sensor networks.

Implemented the protocols within the GloMoSim library on Linux.

 

Fault-tolerant event boundary detection in wireless sensor networks

Co-designed secure and fault-tolerant event boundary detection algorithms.

Implemented and simulated the algorithms in MATLAB.

 

Multipath routing protocols in wireless ad hoc networks

Designed multipath geographic routing protocols in wireless Ad hoc networks.

Implemented the protocols within the GloMoSim library on Linux.

 

Random key pre-distribution in wireless sensor networks

Co-designed Random key pre-distribution protocols in wireless sensor networks.

Implemented the numerical simulation codes in Maple.

Designed admission control algorithms in wireless cellular networks with/without retrial.

Implemented and simulated the algorithms in OPNET.

Transplanted the system from Linux+Unix+Oracle platform to Windows+SQL Server platform.
